A 3:10 hifz technique is designed to provide ample revision time for excellent retention. In this technique, students will simply recite the given lesson 10 times by looking at the text and 3 times out of their memory. The 10-time reading of the text is meant to help students get perfect in their Tajweed, makharij, fluency, understanding of meaning, and visual imagery. Once done, they can recall the lesson easily and review it 3 times.
Other variations of this method are solely for advanced-level students who can modify it according to their ease. For your online hifz program, consider understanding this method for exact application.
What is the 3:10 Hifz Quran Technique?
The 3:10 Quran memorization technique entails spending more time than usual reading and memorizing the lesson using strong mental imagery. After initially reading and memorizing the text 7 times, it’s important to review it three more times without the text in front of you to solidify the memory.
Whether you need to memorize a single verse, a page, or a Surah, this method is highly effective. However, it’s crucial to note that even a minor error requires repeating the entire process, including 10 readings and 3 reviews.
Hifz Academy is the most reliable place to learn how to apply this technique. Hifz teachers here have also practiced it during their hifz times.
