Tips To memorize Quran Fast

Memorizing Quran fast doesn’t entail low or poor-quality learning. In fact, you can efficiently learn verses in less time. Today we will enlighten you about the best practical tips by Hifz Academy to help memorize the Quran faster.

1. Choose a Suitable Timing

It is a common fact whenever you start any task you need to allocate a specific time for it. A time in which you can easily focus and avoid deviations. For hifz, you need to choose a suitable time, be it only 20-30 minutes from the whole day, but these 30 minutes should be premium, convenient, focused, and fresh-minded.

The lesson that you can memorize with 100% attention can’t be memorized even in an hour of diverted mind.

2. Pick the Easiest Juz First

After choosing the best time for hifz, we suggest picking the easiest juz, that is the last one (Juz Amma). The reason is to give yourself some time to get into the routine of memorizing. The Surahs of Juz Amma are easy to recite because of their easy words, and short verses.

Once you have memorized the 1st quarter from the bottom, you will get into a flow. Then, you can increase the verses limit and even the allocated time also.

3. Pay Attention To Revision

Many people think that memorizing new Surahs without daily revision is a good option. Sorry! We negate it!

Until you revise the memorized portion daily with concentration, your hifz will not become strong and of high quality. Initially, it seems that everything is in our memory but be mindful that Shaitaan is always ready to make you forget your lessons easily. Slowly and gradually you will forget a word, a phrase, a whole Ayat, then a whole Surah.

That is why give good time to revision even if you think the lesson is 100% saved in your memory box.

4. Hire A Hafiz Tutor

Starting hifz might seem easy in the beginning but it is not true. The more you fill your memory box with verses, the higher a load of revisions on you, and then you will need a teacher to assist you in the daily revision tasks by dividing your time efficiently.

A hired tutor takes online hifz classes and your tutor must know how to break down your memorized verses into old and new revisions so that you keep learning new lessons with the revision of old ones. A hafiz tutor is recommended instead of a Qari/Qaria because they can guide you out of their own experience.

5. Design A Convenient Plan

If you are just memorizing a surah, it doesn’t require a skillfully designed plan. But in the case of a juz or several juz, or the whole Quran, you need to have a convenient hifz plan.

This plan is a roadmap or a sketch for you that you can follow to memorize Quran fast. The plan will tell you:

  • Number of Ataat to learn,
  • Number of Ayaat to revise.
  • Time left to achieve the target.
  • How to manage if you are overdone with time, etc

That is why make an easy plan first and follow it religiously to see how you manage your time, energy, and other tasks along with hifz.

6. Slow Down And Give Time

The companions of Prophets memorized Quran for many years. They didn’t prefer rot-learning or more learning. Instead, they used to memorize a verse and tried to apply it to their daily lives before proceeding.

The next tip is to slow down and remind yourself of the prophet S.A.W.W. took 23 years to memorize the whole Quran with proper understanding and application.

Memorize less but with 100% accuracy. Give time to yourself.

7. Understand What You Are Learning

It is alarming that you have memorized a certain portion or even a verse and you don’t know the meaning, the history, or the cause of revelation. How can you bring khushuu (purity) into your salah if you don’t know what you are reciting?

Ask your hired tutor to explain the overall meaning and the theme of the Suran to give you a broad picture of the Surah you are learning.

8. Find The Strategy That Best Suits Your Ability

There are multiple hifz strategies that people find helpful while memorizing. Some find listening to audio helpful, others find mnemonic techniques useful. So, examine yourself which technique you are easy with and can learn faster in that way. Some here are some of the best quran memorization techniques:

  • 7×3 Memorization Technique
