The time it takes to memorize the Quran depends on your schedule and timetable. Consistently following your schedule improves your chances of meeting your targets on time. You can set a specific duration in advance to help you stay on track, which can range from 6 months to 2 years. Some people choose schedules longer than 2 years for their convenience. It’s important to align your time and energy for hifz with your chosen schedule.

TogglePrerequisites for Quran Memorization
There are some points that you need to consider for your quran memorization journey and before learning about the schedules. If there prerequisites are readily prepared, you can successfully achieve your goals.
- Set SMART goals for hifz so you can easily complete them. The word smart is used as:
S= specific
M= measurable
A= achievable
R= realistic
T= timely
- Choose an ideal time with no distractions. Ideally, the dawn time is the best time for hifz when you can fully focus with a fresh mind and body. Also, this time has Allah’s blessings so try availing this precious slot.
- Create a memorization timetable/schedule to stay persistent. Without a schedule, you will never pursue properly and leave in the middle.
- Start with easy chapters to develop a good routine and train your brain to retain more. Also, your Tajweed will be perfected with shorter Surahs and you can fully prepare to target longer Surahs.
- Revise and review daily for excellent results and retention. Once you miss a revision session, your hifz lesson will not be as perfect as before. So, revising is mandatory.
- Track your progress to comply with the timetable. Keep a check on your daily lesson, revision, and your errors.
- Be consistent and never give up on your targets. If you feel like giving up, read out the success stories of others to get motivated.
Three Types of Quran Memorization Schedules
We at Hifz Academy design personalized schedules that suit our students’ needs. Here, we are sharing detailed schedules starting from 6 months and ending at 2 years. These schedules can be further divided into weeks and days. You can alter and fix the schedule according to your progress.
6-Month Quran Memorization Schedule
This schedule is tough and only the students with perfect Tajweed and excellent learning abilities can follow it. You have to dedicate around 3-4 hours daily for your hifz class and additional time for a revision session. There is no off in this schedule because you already have a short time to memorize quran in 6 months.

1 | Juz 1-5 | Surah Al-Fatiha to Al-Ma’idah |
2 | Juz 6-10 | Surah Al-An’am to At-Tawbah |
3 | Juz 11-15 | Surah Yunus to Al-Hijr |
4 | Juz 16-20 | Surah An-Nahl to Al-Kahf |
5 | Juz 21-25 | Surah Maryam to Ash-Shu’ara |

1-Year Quran Memorization Schedule
This is a little relaxed schedule for students who do not want to put in rigorous effort. You need to spare 2-3 hours daily for your hifz class to memorize the Quran in a year. Try taking as little off for new lessons as possible. There is no off for revisions. Revise your lessons daily. One whole month is dedicated to revision or if you are left with some portions, complete them in revision months.

We have dedicated a whole month to revision where you will not only recite Aj’za with Tajweed but also take tests and competitions to make your lessons 100% accurate. By following this plan anyone can memorize quran in 2 years easily.
