Whole-Page Quran Memorization Technique & How it Works

Whole-Page Quran Memorization Technique

When it comes to memorizing the verses of the Quran, using different hifz techniques is recommended for best results. If you want to memorize the Quran page by page, you can use the whole-page memorization method. This method involves breaking down one page into 3 parts and then focusing on memorizing each part with multiple revisions.

Some people choose to memorize the whole page in a day by allocating different time slots for each part, while others prefer to memorize one part every day. Regardless of the approach you choose, this method is known for its ability to help you retain the verses for a long time and maintain the correct sequence throughout the Quran.

What is the Whole Page Memorization Technique?

This is an amazing technique where you don’t have to worry about the count at all. In this method, you will start by selecting the page you need to memorize in a day. Break it down into 3 parts with approximately 4 lines each. Begin with the 1st part and recite it as many times as it takes to be fluent. Then, memorize the part before moving on to the 2nd part.

After memorizing part 1, you will begin part 2 either at the same time or choose a different slot for part 2. Before starting the 2nd part, revise part 1 thoroughly. Then, memorize the 2nd part in that slot. Combine both parts and recite as many times as possible to consolidate them.

In your 3rd slot, revise both the previous parts and start memorizing the last part. Once you are done with the 3rd part, revise the whole page together multiple times. Revise the whole page before you sleep to memorize one page of quran a day.

Note: The professional huffaz tutors at Hifz Academy implement this technique in all of their online hifz program to ensure that students are grasping the lessons really well.

How Does This Whole Page Method Work?

Let’s take an example of Surah Yaseen Juz (22-23) Verse 10-21.

Firstly, we will break it down into 3 parts. You can take a 15-lined or a 16-lined Mushaf and make parts according to the lines. Almost 5 lines each.

Part 1: First 3 lines full and 4th line till the end of verse 13.

Part 2: Remaining 4th line till the end of line 6th.

Part 3: Line 7th till the end of verse number 21.

Now you will start from the 1st part and make sure you have an hour in hand to memorize these lines efficiently. Adjust your time according to your capacity. Follow the given pattern to memorize the parts.

  • Read part 1 almost 15 times by focusing on Tajweed and makharij.
  • Memorize part 1 with almost 15 reps to ensure perfection.
  • Revise the part 5 times to make it error-free.

You can modify the pattern to suit your needs. Then, move on to the next part and repeat the pattern. Combine both parts and ensure they are fluent together while reading from memory.

Move on to the last part and repeat the pattern. Do not forget to revise the previous parts along with the last one. In the end, revise the whole page 5 times by looking at it and then close the Mushaf to read it the final time from your memory.
